Hey I’m an artist from Moonta Bay, playing in bands like Grouse and Bird Island, writing and releasing original music and doing my own acoustic thing whenever time permits. Rock Music, Pop Music, acoustic. Those types of things. On the side I also run a small independent record “Bay Road Records” for releasing mates music as well as graphic design work, for mates gigs, album art and the works.

Carol Pearl Art

I'm a songwriter, singer/guitarist, poet and visual artist working in multimedia, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal and ink and wash. Previously co-owner of ROAR Art escapes running art retreats, I've also coordinated a few art exhibitions on the SYP. Denise Jackson-Cook

Photography has become one of the most rewarding parts of my life. What began as a desire to learn and improve my camera and drone skills has grown into a passion for creativity, storytelling, and capturing moments that might otherwise be forgotten. I joined my local photography club, Southern Yorke Peninsula Photography Club (SYPPC), hoping to learn from others, improve my skills, and meet like-minded people. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I made. The encouragement, friendships, and knowledge shared by fellow members have given me the confidence to challenge myself, try new techniques, and continually grow as a photographer. Through SYPPC, we have also been invited by Country Arts SA to photograph events, providing wonderful opportunities to support and contribute to the communities around us. I enjoy photographing almost anything that catches my eye—from landscapes, wildlife and nature to people, events, abstract images and imaginative miniature scenes. I love experimenting with light, composition, and perspective, always looking for creative ways to tell a story or evoke an emotion through an image. For me, photography is about far more than taking a picture. It is about preserving memories, capturing moments, and encouraging others to see the beauty that surrounds us every day. Whether exploring a quiet coastline, discovering unexpected details in nature, or creating playful miniature worlds, I enjoy seeing ordinary scenes from a fresh perspective. Photography continues to inspire me to keep learning, exploring, and creating. Every outing offers a new opportunity to grow, and every image tells a story that is uniquely my own.

Dora-Ly Kennel – Ocean Glaze Ceramics

Born in France, Dora-Ly is a lifelong creative whose journey has taken her across the globe. Her diverse experiences and academic background; including degrees in arts and literature, tourism, and winemaking - have each uniquely influenced her artistic vision. For the past seven years, she has called Australia home, drawing endless inspiration from its rich culture and stunning natural landscapes. Ocean Glaze Ceramics was born during a pivotal chapter in Dora-Ly’s life. While expecting her son Louis, she rediscovered her passion for ceramics through a refresher course. After his birth, she followed her creative calling and founded Ocean Glaze Ceramics; an expression of her artistry, love for handcrafted beauty, and the profound journey into motherhood. Her work reflects the serenity of the ocean, the strength of nature, and the ever-evolving experience of being both an artist and a mother.

Hillarey Andrews – Artist & Art Program Coordinator

Hillarey Andrews is the Project Coordinator at the Great Southern Reef Foundation, supporting projects that bring together science, community, and conservation. She holds a Master's in Curatorial Sciences from the École du Louvre and has worked across galleries, museums, and public programs in Europe and Australia. Outside of work, she is a mixed media artist whose practice is inspired by the natural world, particularly Australia's marine and coastal environments.

My name is Jaylen Collins, known online as J-Trex. I’m a young, emerging electronic music producer and DJ from the Yorke Peninsula. I create and release original music, specialising in hardstyle and perform live DJ sets featuring both my own work and music from other artists. Liam Ken Smith

Hello! I'm a Musician, Songwriter, Composer, Producer, Sound Designer and Studio / Live Audio Engineer (Recording, Mixing, Mastering) I have a studio near Yorketown with state of the art gear available, as well as a portable option. The local projects I've worked on include The Lullaby Project, SYP Sounds, GROUNDED Festival (Story of Whidhadha, Shanties By The Sea) and FLAME Festival (Winda The Owl). My career in marketing, public relations and communications gave me the opportunity to develop a strong visual storytelling approach, using photography to capture authentic moments and communicate compelling narratives. Now retired, photography has become both a creative outlet and a continuing passion. Beyond my commercial work, I enjoy exploring a broad range of artistic genres. My personal photographic interests include abstract imagery, nature, landscapes, street photography and travel photography, where I seek to capture the beauty, character and emotion found in everyday moments and extraordinary places alike. Meg is a Ceramic Artist and Graphic Designer who lives and works on a farm near Maitland. Meg's pottery pieces are not ‘perfect’, nor are they factory formed. Each is wheel thrown and painted by hand, making them truly unique. The historic shearing shed/pottery studio hosts workshops in wheel throwing and ceramic painting and is available for hire as a venue.

I have taught Digital Story Telling to public and professional groups in Regional and Metro South Australia including with Carclew, Art Gallery of South Australia and Private businesses and groups. My approach to this work is INCLUSIVE and CAPACITY BUILDING as I believe anyone should have access to a simple and PRACTICAL set of skills to communicate visually. Hey, I am a singer-songwriter, musician and leather worker. Music - I do a variety of live performance > solo (folky, acoustic pop vibes), Trio with 2 other local artists, Caleb Raymond and Darren Braund (a more dynamic range), and group performance (help bring together and perform at the local favourite, Carols by the Sea). I also write and release music. This tends to range from folky, acoustic pop to Cinematic. Leather work - I love creating beautiful boutique, hand crafted, genuine leather products. Sonya Rankine – Lakun Mara

Sonya Rankine is a Ngarrindjeri, Narungga, Ngadjuri and Wirangu multidisciplinary artist, cultural educator, weaver, singer-songwriter and emerging playwright based in South Australia. Her practice is grounded in culture, storytelling and connection to Country, bringing together traditional and contemporary weaving, music and performance. Working under her business, Lakun Mara, Sonya creates woven sculptures, jewellery, wearable art and commissioned works using natural fibres and contemporary materials. Weaving is central to her practice, reflecting the interconnectedness of culture, identity and community. Sonya also facilitates cultural workshops, artist talks and community engagement programs for schools, organisations and corporate groups, creating culturally safe spaces for learning through hands-on creative experiences. She collaborates with galleries, festivals, designers and cultural organisations on exhibitions, public art and bespoke commissions, with each project guided by cultural integrity, respect and the sharing of First Nations knowledge through contemporary artistic practice.

Southern Yorke Peninsula Photography Club

The Southern Yorke Peninsula Photography Club is a welcoming and friendly group of photography enthusiasts who share a passion for capturing the world through the lens. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, our club offers a supportive environment where you can develop your skills, explore new photographic techniques, and connect with others who share your interest in photography. We meet regularly in the Progress Room at Weaners Flat Reserve, Stansbury Road, Yorketown, where members enjoy learning together, exchanging ideas, and encouraging one another to grow creatively.
