Sandra Burt

Sandra moved to Port Moorowie on the Yorke Peninsula 26 years ago with her husband and set up a pottery workshop in their backyard. She has exhibited in the Kadina Ascot Gallery and in 2019, ran a workshop at Peasey Pantry in Yorketown as part of the annual SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival.  Sandra has been working with clay since enrolling in a 3 year art and craft certificate course at Whyalla TAFE over 40 years ago under the instruction of sculptor, Brian Lightfoot.

Sandra is a member of the AGSA and joined the Edithburgh Art Group to continue her interest in the arts, crafts and exhibitions. She loves gas fired reduction work, but unfortunately it’s not readily available on the Yorke Peninsula so she also uses wood, electric kiln and black fires pieces. She regularly seeks avenues for inspiration, including from other artists and attends local, state and national exhibitions to fuel her creativity.
